Ganguly affirmed that both Rohit and Kohli are certain picks for the upcoming T20 World Cup in June. While also stressing the importance of selectors making wise choices, the 51-year-old personally believes that the duo will be pivotal in the top order. Additionally, the former BCCI president backed Rohit to lead the side.
“Both Rohit Sharma and Viral Kohli will definitely go to West Indies and USA. It's a call for selectors whom they will open with but if you ask me personally both Rohit and Virat should open for India in the T20 World Cup,” Ganguly was quoted as saying by India Today.
"Of course, Rohit should captain the team in the T20I World Cup. Virat Kohli also should be there. Virat Kohli is an outstanding player, nothing will happen (to return after 14 months)," he added.
