Cricket South Africa has released a 16-member squad which will be primed to take on India in a four-match T20I series, slated to commence on November 8, 2024. Aiden Markram will be leading a fairly experienced unit and will be keen on putting on a spirited performance with the bat.
A fierce middle-order consists of Heinrich Klaasen, Tristan Stubbs, and David Miller, forming the core of the batting lineup. With two of the above three almost confirmed to be retained by their Indian Premier League franchises, they would be coming into the series with renewed vigour and momentum.
Bowling all-rounder, Mihlali Mpongwana has received his maiden call-up to the squad. The 24-year-old impressed in the recently-concluded CSA T20 Challenge, scalping 12 wickets at an average of 14.08. Another uncapped all-rounder, Andile Simelane, who was previously a part of the Proteas squad that toured the United Arab Emirates in September, has been included.
Marco Jansen and Gerald Coetzee will be making their returns to international cricket after being rested by the management as part of a conditioning break. Both of them are expected to spearhead the fast-bowling lineup, with Keshav Maharaj being the frontline spinner.

While Lungi Ngidi was not considered for selection as he continues to prepare for the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka, Kagiso Rabada has been rested. Lutho Sipamla, who is still in the nascent stages as far as his international career is concerned, will join the squad for the third and fourth T20Is. He has picked up a total of 18 international wickets so far.
