South Africa have announced their Test squad for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The series, which was in doubt due to sensitive political conditions in Bangladesh, got a green signal from CSA recently. For the same, South Africa recalled their left-arm spinner Senuran Muthusamy who has three Tests to his name. Muthusamy will be part of a spin trio which includes Keshav Maharaj and Dane Piedt.

The first Test of the series will be played in Dhaka from October 21 and Kagiso Rabada would be expected to lead the pace attack, alongside Nandre Burger, Dane Paterson, and Wiaan Mulder for the Proteas. Muthusamy also brings up the experience of 247 First-class wickets and almost 5000 runs. South Africa head coach Shukri Conrad opened up on the versatility and depth of the squad.

“I want to firstly thank both boards, Cricket South Africa and the Bangladesh Cricket Board, for ensuring the series goes ahead. Bangladesh is always a tough place to tour. They've become a formidable side at home and we have to be prepared for the challenge that awaits us. We have therefore chosen a squad for the conditions we are expecting to greet us when we get there,” said Shukri Conrad as quoted by Cricbuzz.

“We have three frontline spinners and all of them have the ability to step up at any time they are needed. This is a great chance for someone like Senuran, who has potential to make a mark with both bat and ball. We are really looking forward to seeing what he can offer,” he added.
