South Africa players break down in tears after losing U19 World Cup semi-final
India U19 defeated South Africa U19 by two wickets to reach the final of the U19 World Cup.
The story remained the same for South Africa after the U19 side lost the semi-final of the U19 World Cup to the Indian team. After India won the clash by two wickets to make their way into the summit clash, it was heartbreak and disappointment for South Africa.
The youngsters were seen breaking down in tears after missing out on the final of the tournament. Tristan Luus and Nqobani Mokoena were captured lying on the ground as Kwena Maphaka attempted to console his teammates after the loss.
However, amidst the disappointment, Indian skipper Uday Saharan was seen sharing a wholesome moment with the South Africa cricketers as he hugged his South African counterpart, Juan James, looking to provide some consolation.
India to face winner of AUS-PAK in U19 World Cup final
After defeating South Africa U19 by two wickets, the Indian team made their way into yet another U19 World Cup final and after booking their berth in the summit clash, the Uday Saharan-led side will now be gearing up to face off against the winner of the second semi-final.
The second semi-final of the U19 World Cup will feature a clash between Australia U19 and Pakistan U19. Both sides will face off at Willowmoore Park, Benoni on Thursday, February 8.
The winner of the clash will go on to face off against India U19. It is interesting to note that Pakistan finished in second place in the Super Sixes group, just below the Indian team.
On the other hand, Australia U19 topped Group 2 of the Super Sixes with three wins in four matches, with South Africa finishing in second. It could prove to be an interesting face-off when Australia and Pakistan take centre stage and either side would make for worthy opponents for India, considering their form.
