Annabel Sutherland reached new heights as she registered her name in the history books by becoming just the tenth women's player to achieve a Test double century. The grand occasion took place at the iconic WACA ground in Perth. Sutherland showcased a masterclass of batting skills against a troubled South African side in a one-off Test match.
Day two of the encounter witnessed Sutherland's sublime innings, where she produced a range of strokes to mesmerise the spectators and dominate the opposition's bowling attack. Having resumed her innings unbeaten on 54, she wasted no time in taking over the bowlers, swiftly notching up her second Test century with a flurry of boundaries.
However, it was in the final over before Tea that Sutherland scripted her moment of glory, reaching the coveted milestone of 210 runs. She fell short of three runs to break Ellyse Perry's record of 213. Despite missing out on rewriting the record books, Sutherland's innings was nothing but brilliant.

The 22-year-old prodigy's double century came off a mere 248 deliveries, surpassing the previous record for the fastest double ton set by Karen Rolton. Amidst the applause from the WACA crowd, Sutherland gracefully acknowledged her achievement.
Not only did Sutherland bat shined on the field, but her all-round performance also left a lasting impact. Earlier in the match, she showcased her bowling skills by claiming three crucial wickets for a mere 19 runs, playing a pivotal role in bundling out South Africa for their lowest Test score of 76.
With this record, she is now the fifth Australian woman to score a double hundred in Test cricket. Along with her Ellyse Perry, Karen Rolton, Michelle Goszko, and Joanne Broadbent are the other batters to reach the milestone.
