Speedster Prasidh Krishna gets hitched; Jasprit Bumrah, Shreyas Iyer attend marriage ceremony
Prasidh Krishna was ruled out of the IPL 2023 due to injury.
India speedster Prasidh Krishna On Thursday, June 8 married his fiance Rachana in a quintessential south Indian wedding ceremony and it was attended by many star cricketers including Shreyas Iyer, and Jasprit Bumrah among others.
In addition to Shreyas and Bumrah, Karnataka cricketer Krishnappa Gowtham also attended the wedding ceremony and extended his best wishes to the couple.
Shreyas Iyer took to Instagram and shared his story “Congratulations Skiddyy," he wrote. Even Gowtham took to social media to congratulate the couple after tying the knot.
Meanwhile, Krishna is still undergoing rehabilitation after his back surgery that saw him miss the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. The 27-year-old pacer suffered a lumbar stress fracture in his spine and it required surgery. His franchise Rajasthan Royals were forced to make a change and roped in right-arm medium pacer Sandeep Sharma as a replacement for the 16th edition.
Sandeep, 30, bowled well for Rajasthan in most of the games and was backed by the franchise throughout the season. He played a total of 12 games in the 2023 season of the cash-rich league and snared 10 scalps while conceding runs at an economy of 8.61 per over.
Krishna has enjoyed his outings in the Indian Premier League thus far. In 51 games, played in the Indian T20 extravaganza Krishna has claimed 49 wickets at a slightly higher economy rate of 8.92.
In the 2022 edition, while playing for the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals, Krishna bagged 19 wickets at an economy rate of 8.29. He played a monumental role in helping his team reach the summit clash of the season where they lost to the Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans eventually.
His playing career for India is still its nascent stage. The Bangalore-born has only represented the Men in Blue in 14 One Day Internationals (ODIs) and dismissed 25 batters thus far at an average of 23.92 and and an economy rate of 5.32. He last played for India against Zimbabawe in Harare on August 20, 2022.
