Reports: SRH cricketer Abhishek Sharma to be interrogated in connection with model Tania Singh's suicide

IPL (Indian Premier League) cricketer Abhishek Sharma, who represents Sunrisers Hyderabad in the marquee tournament, is expected to be called up by Surat Police in connection with the suicide of model Tania Singh in the Vesu area of Surat.

Originally from Rajasthan, Tania Singh resided at Happy Elegance in the Vesu area and was pursuing Fashion Design and Modeling for the last 18 months. She committed suicide in her apartment, and the authorities suspect a love affair between her and Abhishek Sharma, although the duo hadn't spoken to each other in a long time.

It is worth noting that, according to Police Inspector BU Barad of Vesu Police Station, that there was no contact between Abhishek and Tania for a long time. However, seeing that he was friends with her, he would be called for questioning.

Sunrisers Hyderabad aim to improve in IPL 2024

It is worth noting that Abhishek Sharma is an all-rounder who has scored 893 runs at a strike rate of 137.38 in 47 matches in IPL. He has scored four half-centuries and taken nine wickets in IPL and represents Sunrisers Hyderabad. 

The 16th edition of the IPL was not kind to Hyderabad as the side came into the tournament hoping to go all the way, but failed to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition after they finished in 10th place in the IPL 2023 standings. 

Playing 14 games throughout the course of the season, Hyderabad managed to win just four games and lost the remaining games. The side finished the group stage with eight points in 14 matches and had a season to forget. 

However, as the 17th edition of the IPL approaches, Sunrisers Hyderabad will be keen on doing better and improving in 2024. The side will hope to make it to the knockout stages of the competition and take the learnings from 2023 to implement into their game in the upcoming season.
