The Match 18 of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) saw a heartwarming moment as SRH captain Pat Cummins withdrew obstructing the field appeal against Ravindra Jadeja. The incident took place on the fourth ball of the second last over bowled by Bhuvneshwar Kumar as Jadeja played the yorker straight back to the bowler.
Seeing the batter out of the crease, Bhuvneshwar tried to hit the stumps, however, Jadeja who was frantically looking to go back inside the popping crease got in the way of the throw and got hit by the ball. Following the incident, on-field umpires Rohan Pandit and Yeshwant Barde decided to refer it to the third umpire.

However, SRH captain Pat Cummins decided against it and withheld the spirit of the game. The replays clearly suggested that the CSK batter had no intention of getting in line of the throw and was just looking to get inside the crease when he got hit. As a result, Cummins was lauded by fans for his kind gesture.
