Sri Lanka unveil their jersey for T20 World Cup 2022
Sri Lanka will start their campaign in T20 World Cup 2022 on October 16 against Namibia.
The Sri Lankan team becomes the latest team to reveal their new colors for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. The reigning Asian champions will participate in a qualifier tournament with hopes of reaching the Super 12 stage of the competition. The jersey was launched by an official unveiling featuring the Sri Lankan white-ball skipper Dasun Shanaka.
Sri Lanka defied all odds by going all the way in the recently concluded 15th edition of the Asia Cup, beating pre-tournament favorites India and Pakistan to clinch their sixth Asia Cup trophy. Dasun Shanka led an exciting bunch of players to ultimate glory while the country was suffering from a political and financial crisis.
The new jersey encapsulates the emotions of the Sri Lankan people, who endured a horrific time in the island nation since the turn of the year. The jersey has been developed by MAS holding, which has been the cricketing nation's most trusted apparel manufacturer for years. The two recently unveiled jerseys have been designed by taking into account recent climate change issues.
The Sri Lankan Cricket board shared the pictures of the newly unveiled jersey via a post from their official Twitter handle, which read, "Unveiling Sri Lanka Cricket Jersey for the ICC #T20WorldCup 2022!"
The newly crowned Asia Cup champions are the underdogs for the upcoming T20 World Cup

The Islanders will be one of the underdogs heading into the tournament, but all the other participating teams will be wary about the Sri Lankans, given their recent exploits in the shortest format of the game.
