The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)'s explosive batting line up created havoc on the Rajasthan Royals bowling attack in the ongoing match 2 of IPL 2025. Sunrisers Hyderabad go on to score the second-highest total in the league history, scoring 286-6 in the first innings. RR ace bowler Jofra Archer becomes the bowler with the most expensive bowling spell in IPL and ends the game with an unwanted record.

Hyderabad's top order was in superb touch with the bat once again and none of the Royals' bowlers managed to keep their economy under 9 runs per over, but it was Archer who faced the most hammering during the innings. Archer, who ended with figures of 0/76 in his four overs, going for over an economy of 19.00 in the game. The previous bowler who held this record was Mohit Sharma, who had figures of 0/73 against the Delhi Capitals last season. This was a long-awaited return for Archer, who last played for RR in 2020 where he was the player of the tournament.

This certainly wasn't the way Archer would have wanted to start his season after getting bought back by the franchise for INR 12.50 crore. The onslaught was started in Archer's first over itself, where he was smashed for 23 runs by Travis Head, getting smacked all around the park in the fifth over.

From there, the onslaught continued, and the speedster was not able to come back in the spell at all. Jofra could not find his line and length and could not get a breakthrough during his forgettable outing with the ball.

SRH set an astonishing total of 286/6 in the first innings after Ishan Kishan became the first centurion in the league's 2025 edition. This was also the second-highest first-innings' total in IPL history, with the best also being to SRH's name, which they achieved during the previous edition. As of writing, SRH lost three wickets early in their chase, but the partnership between Dhruv Jurel and Sanju Samson has currently kept the hopes alive for the Riyan Parag-led side.
