Rajasthan Royals are having a gala time in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2024. They have won all of their three opening games in the tournament so far. The team is bolstered by every player pitching in when it matters the most. But, Jos Buttler is an exception. The England captain’s rough patch with the bat is refusing to fade away. He has no substantial knock to back his case as criticism is at an all-time high.

Buttler’s bat has not made any sound since the start of the World Cup 2023. His dismal performance continued during England’s white-ball tour to West Indies. Now, his stars have not aligned well in the cash-rich league of India too. His former teammate, Stuart Broad has shown faith in him and has called for patience from critics and fans alike. Buttler has garnered just 35 runs in three outings in IPL 2024.

“He's been in a bit of a lean patch since the 50-overs World Cup in India. Although he hasn't quite found his form in this tournament yet, he's been dismissed twice by some pretty good bowling. I think this will be the tournament where he plays well,” said Broad while in conversation with Star Sports.

“He has a great relationship with (Yashasvi) Jaiswal at the top of the order, and if both of them fire, Rajasthan Royals will certainly make the playoffs, if not challenge for the trophy. I think we need to be patient with him. Once he starts facing a lot of balls, he's going to score a lot of runs in this tournament,” he added.

Rajasthan Royals march well-balanced in the league

RR have ticked all the boxes at the start of their season. They were termed as a team to watch out for and a side to be aware of. They have lived up to the hype and are perched at the second spot of the points table. They emerged victorious against Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, and Mumbai Indians. They will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their next game on April 6 in Jaipur.
