In a high-scoring match at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) by seven wickets to register their second win of the IPL 2024 season. The match's highlight was the blistering innings played by MI's star batter Suryakumar Yadav, who was lauded by former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh who called him a better version of South African legend AB de Villiers.
Suryakumar Yadav, playing his second IPL 2024 match after returning from a lengthy injury break, was at his destructive best on April 11 as he smashed the RCB bowlers, bringing out his 360-degree range of shot-making. Suryakumar smashed 52 off just 19 balls, including five boundaries and four sixes, as MI chased down a target of 197 with 27 balls to spare.

Where do you bowl to him: Harbhajan Singh
Harbhajan Singh, the World Cup-winning former off-spinner, was in awe of Suryakumar's effortless shot-making ability. "I have never seen someone dominating like the way Suryakumar does. Unbelievable. Where do you bowl to him? I am so glad I am not playing cricket now. At this age, where do you bowl to this guy?" Harbhajan said to Star Sports.
The 43-year-old compared Suryakumar to the legendary AB de Villiers but stated that the MI batter is a better version of the South African. "Suryakumar is in a different league. When Suryakumar Yadav shines, no one can survive. We have all seen AB de Villiers, the unbelievable player! But when I know this guy, I think he is a better version of AB de Villiers. He has won more number of games for his franchise than anyone playing now in this format," he added.

Suryakumar's blistering knock played a crucial role in MI's comprehensive victory over RCB. After Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma laid the foundation with a 101-run opening partnership, Suryakumar joined hands with his former captain Rohit and took the game away from the opposition with his brutal assault.
