In a major development around Indian cricket, star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav has undergone surgery in Germany. The 33-year-old was operated upon on Wednesday, January 17, and will take at least four or five weeks to recover.

Compatriot KL Rahul underwent a similar operation recently and recovered quickly, however, it could take longer in the case of Suryakumar Yadav. His sports hernia operation came on the back of an ankle injury operation he underwent after he sustained an injury against South Africa in a recently concluded T20I series.

According to several sources within the BCCI, Yadav will be ready for the upcoming season of the IPL (Indian Premier League) and will certainly be fit for the T20 World Cup 2024, slated to begin in June.

Furthermore, the treatment plan for the 33-year-old is quite different as well, considering that he underwent a surgery for his ankle injury. The BCCI is moving ahead with caution as they want Suryakumar in top shape and form ahead of the major tournaments.

Will be back very soon: Suryakumar Yadav

Confirming the success of his surgery, Yadav took to social media to ensure that he will be back on the playing field very soon, and thanked his fans for their concerns.

“Surgery done, I want to thank everyone for their concerns and well wishes for my health, and I am happy to tell you all that I will be back very soon,” Suryakumar Yadav posted on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The news of the 33-year-old’s surgery success would undoubtedly be something that the fans and the board were eager to hear about. With the T20 World Cup on the horizon, Suryakumar Yadav’s services are going to be key for the Men in Blue’s success in the tournament.
