T Ten Global Sports Founder and Chairman, Shaji Ul Malk, feels that there could be a possibility of seeing the legendary MS Dhoni in action in the T10 format. This development comes at a time when the former India captain's participation in the IPL 2025 (Indian Premier League) is hanging in the balance.
The IPL Governing Council recently reintroduced a rule which would allow Dhoni to play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as an uncapped player. This move will not only help the wicketkeeper-batter in prolonging his IPL career but also let CSK have a bigger purse to form the rest of their team. However, there has been no confirmation about Dhoni's participation in the impending season. The 43-year-old has remained tight-lipped and this has led to speculations about his retirement.
Dhoni is still one of the fittest cricketers and his reflexes haven't shown signs of slowing down. However, he has had a dodgy knee that has been troubling him for quite some time. Whenever the five-time IPL-winning skipper announces his retirement from the IPL, he will have the option of enjoying the sports in the T10 format.

"Absolutely, I think outside of the top level of international cricketers playing, current India internationals are not allowed to play outside of the Indian Premier League. The recently retired players, almost all the big names of India, have come to play T10. So yes, we can expect MS Dhoni to be playing T10 when he makes up his mind," Shaji was quoted as saying by the Times of India.
Prominent Indian cricketers to have played T10 cricket
Former India cricketers Robin Uthappa, Suresh Raina, and Irfan Pathan are three prominent cricketers who have played T10 cricket in the past. The forthcoming Abu Dhabi T10 2024 season is set to have players from 11 countries. UAE, West Indies, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan are some of the teams in the tournament.

According to the CEO of Abu Dhabi Cricket, Matthew Boucher, the global appeal of the T10 format is growing rapidly. While this may not be the year, cricket enthusiasts will be eager to watch Dhoni in action in the shortest format in the future.
