Current world champions Australia will lock horns with New Zealand in their first fixture of the T20 World Cup 2022 campaign.
The much-anticipated ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is all set to commence from 16 October 2022 and will be played in Australia. Apart from being the host venue, Australia is also the defending champions, winning the T20 World Cup against New Zealand last year which was held in UAE.
This year, the Aussies will kick start their Super 12 campaign just as they concluded their tournament last year, that is against the Kiwis. The world champions will face a challenging outing against Kane Williamson-led New Zealand as they will look to maintain their winning streak from last year's final. Australia are placed in Group 1 along with Afghanistan, England, New Zealand, Group A winners and Group B runners-up of the qualifiers.
