India suffered an unceremonious exit at the T20 World Cup 2021 after losing to arch-rivals Pakistan and New Zealand in the group stage. One year fast forward and India are again set to cross swords with arch rivals Pakistan on October 23, Sunday in their first match of the mega event.

India had kick-started their T20 World Cup 2021 campaign with a humiliating ten-wicket defeat to the Asian neighbours. Now, that Pakistan have put their losing streak against India to an end in T20 World Cups, it is safe to say that the latter will look for a redemption this time around.

However, Pakistan is not the only team India has to dominate but they will need to get past other teams too in order to stay on top of their group or finish second to progress to the semi-finals.

Notably, India suffered a dreadful campaign in the recently culminated Asia Cup following successive defeats at the hands of Pakistan and Sri Lanka. However, the Men in Blue won the recent three-match T20I series against Australia and South Africa and it must have done their morale a world of good.

But India have suffered a major injury blow as Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the World Cup. Bumrah is known as the death over specialist and his absence will certainly impact the Men in Blue. 

The other teams present along with India in Group 2 are Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa and two more teams will join the group after the First Round.
