The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is all set to commence from the 16^th of October that marks its eighth edition since its inception. One of the standout teams in recent times have been New Zealand who were also the runners-up of the T20 World Cup last year. Following the defeat to Australia in the final last year, the Kiwis will clash the latter in their first fixture on 22 October, Saturday.

Kane Williamson-New Zealand have only lost just one T20I in 2022 after losing a fixture to West Indies in the 2-1 series win. During the course of their T20I outings this year, as many as 19 players have featured across the 10 matches for the national side. Moreover, the side looks very competitive and will look to settle scores with host nation, Australia.

Trent Boult and Tim Southee will take over the pace department and will feature more prominently for the side in the forthcoming tournament down under.

Kiwis have put up a great show on the pitch with string of victories maintaining a winning streak in the shortest format. Undoubtedly, Williamson’s side appear to be strong contender for the title and can prove to be lethal on their day.

It remains to be seen if New Zealand will be able to turn tables around in the mega ICC event with the squad they have in hand. The side is all set to be led by veteran batter Kane Williamson.
