T20 World Cup 2022: Zimbabwe Squad, Schedule, & Schedule PDF Download

The eighth edition of the T20 World Cup is all set to begin in Australia this month. The tournament will start with the First Round of matches from October 16, followed by the Super 12 stage of the tournament, starting October 22. A total of 16 teams will be participating in the marquee event, and all of them have announced their respective squads.

Zimbabwe is one of the eight teams that will be a part of the First Round and will be playing the contest with an aim to make it into the Super 12. They won the T20 World Cup Qualifiers to make their way into the First Round.

Zimbabwe named a 15-member squad for the mega event alongside five players who were selected as reserve players. Craig Ervine, the 37-year-old batter, will be leading the squad in the three games that Zimbabwe are scheduled to play in the First Round.

Zimbabwe have played plenty of white-ball games this year, but most of them have been ODIs. They haven’t played a T20I since August 2, 2022, when they defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in a three-match T20I series, followed by winning the three-match ODI series in the similar manner. Zimbabwe’s last white-ball series (three ODIs) was against Australia in Australia where they won a game and lost two.

Zimbabwe will face Sri Lanka and Namibia on October 11 and October 13 respectively in their warm-up fixtures, before starting their T20 World Cup campaign on October 17, 2022, against Ireland. In order to qualify for the Super 12 stage, Zimbabwe, who are a part of Group B in the First Round, will have to finish in either the first or second spot.
