Team India (IND) will take on England (ENG) in the semi-final 2 at the Providence Stadium in Guyana, on Thursday, June 27. While India have remained unbeaten in the group stage and Super 8 stage of the tournament, England have struggled to make it to the semis. It is worth noting that the semifinal 2 clash between both countries has not been allotted a reserve day unlike the semifinal 1.
As per the rules, if the game is a washout, India will straightaway march into the final of the T20 World Cup 2024. To put things into perspective, India have an edge over England owing to their high NRR and having topped the group stage and Super 8s consecutively. While India boast an NRR of a whopping 2.017, England have 1.992 against their name. The Three Lions had lost two out of four games in the group stage and succumbed to South Africa in Super 8s.
But England can hope for a fighting contest as the organizers have allotted an extra 250 minutes for a match with a result in case of rain interruption. Semifinal 2 has no reserved day as the winnings team needs ample time to travel to Barbados for the final on June 29. However, the final of the T20 World Cup 2024 does have a reserve day allotted, and the tournament will see its champion on a subsequent day if not on the prescribed day.
Weather forecasts are not promising for England
Things can go very bad for England as the weather forecast has predicted incessant rains throughout the day. The forecasts predict rain during the day and thunderstorms to go with. There is a 70 percent chance of rain on the match day and the match is slated to commence at 10:30 AM in Guyana.

Notably, the Indian team have not played a day and night game in the tournament, so ICC has scheduled their fixtures matching the night time back in India.
