T20 World Cup 2024: Rs 1.84 Crore! Insane demand for India vs Pakistan match tickets

A new chapter will be added to the epic India versus Pakistan rivalry when the two cricketing giants lock horns in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 later this year.

The marquee clash is scheduled to take place on June 9, at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York. Demand among the fans to secure the tickets is at an all-time high as they are willing to dish out substantial amounts of money in order to witness the clash of the fierce rivals.

While the official sale saw tickets starting at a modest $6 (INR 497), the prices have skyrocketed enormously in the resale markets. Tickets for India's matches against Pakistan and Canada disappeared in no time during the official sales before they returned on resale platforms like StubHub and SeatGeek at mind-boggling prices. These tickets are being offered for at least double their original cost. Some tickets have also been priced at rates way higher than their initial prices.

Cheapest price for India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match is priced over a Lakh on third-party ticket providers

The cheapest resale ticket for the India versus Pakistan ICC T20 World Cup 2024 clash is currently priced at around $1,259 (INR 1.04 lakhs) on StubHub. The lowest price is comparatively lower at $1,166 (INR 96,000) on SeatGeek, but this is still significantly higher than the original price.

To put things into perspective, the resale prices are giving stiff competition to the ticket prices of popular sporting events in the USA. The average World Series ticket in 2023 cost around $1,100 (INR 91,000). Meanwhile, the average Super Bowl 58 ticket reached $9,000 (INR 7.45 lakh). The India versus Pakistan match ticket is going past these numbers on the resale market.

The base price of the most expensive ticket of the high-voltage clash is a whopping $175,000 (INR 1.4 crore). However, with additional fees of $50,000 (INR 41 lakhs), the total cost goes up to nearly a quarter of a million dollars (INR 1.86 crore). This accentuates the severe price inflation that has taken the resale market by storm.
