Nitish Kumar has impressed many with his outing for United States of America in T20 World Cup 2024. He has batted during the crunch situations and has done relatively well in his little cameos for the team. He held his nerves when USA levelled the score against Pakistan in their historic Super Over finish. The batter scored an unbeaten 14 runs in as many balls. Now, against India, his innings helped USA to avoid catastrophe.
The 30-year-old scored 27 runs in 23 balls to help his team post a respectable total against India. He particularly fetched 12 runs off Hardik Pandya, batting on a slower pitch with variable bounce at the Nassau County Stadium in New York. It is worth noting that, he had switched from the Canadian team to USA during the pandemic to foresee his future in cricket.
"There was Covid-19, [and] Toronto had one of the longest lockdowns in the world. There was nothing going on in terms of cricket. And to be fair, I've always dreamt about playing cricket. And I'm someone that's 100% in; I'm not going to do 50-50. I don't want to give up playing cricket. I don't want to wait,” Nitish told ESPNcricinfo ahead of the T20 World Cup.
