He also left South Africa bamboozled with a superb bowling spell upfront to trigger a top-order collapse by claiming a sensational three-wicket haul in Match 21 of the T20 World Cup 2024 in New York. The magnitude of his bowling impact can be fathomed by the fact that at one stage, Proteas were stuttering at 23/4 inside the powerplay phase.
As a result, the youngster ended up with his career-best bowling figures (4/18) in the T20I format.
