There was much to revel in for Deepti Sharma, the leading wicket-taker of the 2024 Women's Asia Cup edition as of now, as they concluded their league stage with a resounding 82-run victory against Nepal Women. This triumph propelled them to the top of Group A, securing a direct berth in the tournament's semi-finals.

However, from a seasoned campaigner like Deepti Sharma, one can consistently expect composed and serene behavior, a demeanor she has epitomized over the years. Post-victory, she exuded this same calmness, reflecting the confidence that charged through the entire unit from the first match onwards. The team felt assured in every match situation and condition they encountered during their time in the island nation. Deepti also emphasized that the team eagerly anticipates the challenge of the semi-final.

“From the first game, we have been pretty confident about each (match) and every situation and the conditions as well. We are looking forward to the semi-final as well,” stated Deepti after the match in an interaction with the media, as quoted by NDTV Sports.

She noted that the nature of the pitches and conditions had not significantly changed since their last tour of the island nation (during which they secured the T20I and ODI series 2-1 and 3-0, respectively). Deepti underscored the importance of maintaining simplicity and approaching each game with singular attention.

The all-rounder also mentioned that she was perpetually prepared to bowl in any situation and never hesitated to confront challenges head-on. She attributed her success to savoring each match, meticulous planning, and diligently implementing strategies discussed in team meetings.

“I (am) always ready to bowl in any kind of situation. I like to take the challenges from the front. (It's) nothing, just (that) I'm enjoying each and every match, plan accordingly and what we discussed in the meeting, I just apply myself," added Deepti.
