Former India captain Sourav Ganguly urged the Indian board to cut all cricketing ties with Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. The former BCCI President was asked if the BCCI was right to cut ties with the PCB. Ganguly agreed with it and felt it had to be done at all costs. He called for strict action from the BCCI.

Ganguly said that terrorism-related incidents happen every year, and it must not be tolerated.

"100 per cent, this (breaking ties with Pakistan) should be done. Strict action is necessary. It is no joke that such things happen every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated," said Ganguly, as he called for strict action from the BCCI.

The bilateral relationships between India and Pakistan, and the BCCI and the PCB, have witnessed a gradual decline in the 21st century. India last toured Pakistan for a bilateral series in 2007/08. The last Indo-Pak bilateral series took place in 2013. Everything changed after the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, where innocent civilians were killed.

We will not play with Pakistan in bilaterals going forward: Rajeev Shukla

The Pakistani players have been banned from the IPL after the 2008 season. Recently, India refused to tour Pakistan for the Champions Trophy. Weeks after their move, the Pahalgam incident took place. The BCCI Vice-President, Rajeev Shukla, opened up on the issue and gave his opinion.

Speaking with Sports Tak, Shukla confirmed that the BCCI would follow the orders of the Indian government. He claimed not to play Pakistan in the bilateral series due to the government's orders and added that India plays Pakistan in the major tournaments only due to the ICC's engagement.

"We are with the victims, and we condemn it. Whatever our government says, we will do. We don't play with Pakistan in a bilateral series because of the government's stand. And we will not play with Pakistan in bilaterals going forward. But when it comes to the ICC event, we play due to ICC engagement. ICC is also aware of what is happening, they will do it (sic)," Rajeev Shukla said.
