'Thank you to all the fans' - MS Dhoni feels blessed to get good support everywhere

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to clash with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) on April 14 at the Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. CSK have been struggling in the IPL 2025 season, having lost five consecutive matches. Their only win so far came against the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the first match.

At the toss, CSK skipper MS Dhoni, who assumed captaincy in the previous match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the tournament due to an elbow injury, expressed his gratitude for the support from fans. Regarding the match, the Indian legend mentioned that CSK would bowl first, considering the possibility of dew later in the game.

The former Indian cricketer acknowledged that the top six batters have been inconsistent throughout the tournament. He emphasized the importance of playing big shots and maintaining a strong mindset moving forward.

“Well blessed, we get good support. Thank you all the fans. We want to bowl first, there's chances of dew here. The wicket gets better. It's important to set the right temperament. We haven't been consistent with our batting. Our top six have been a problem. With the ball we have a strong back. It's important to have a positive mindset, play those big shots. It's a matter of time,” said MS Dhoni at the toss.

CSK made two changes to their playing XI for the clash against LSG. Shaik Rasheed replaced Devon Conway, while Jamie Overton came in for Ravichandran Ashwin. On the other hand, LSG included Mitchell Marsh in their lineup.

This is a must-win game for CSK to keep their playoff hopes alive. A loss here would make it extremely difficult to qualify. Meanwhile, LSG will look to maintain their momentum and secure a win in front of their home crowd.
