IPL 2023 saw Indian star Suryakumar Yadav having a rough start to the season where the batter struggled to get to his usual ways and returned to the pavilion without troubling the scorers much. However, as the tournament moves towards the business end, it pretty much seems like the prolific batter is back in his rhythm and producing stellar innings like before.
After Yadav’s match-winning 66 off 31 against PBKS, former cricketer Robin Uthappa came forward to heap massive praise on the MI batter. Uthappa stated that one could see the confidence back in Yadav while he operated against PBKS and this is exactly what he is known for. The star batter was involved in a solid 116-run stand with Ishan Kishan which helped MI chase the challenging target comfortably in the end.
“Just the way he bats and the confidence with which he bats. Today, you could see that the self-belief was back. It's not like him trying to find his way back. He was like, 'you know what? I'm just going to back myself and have fun,” said Uthappa while speaking on Jio Cinema.
And that's what we know Suryakumar Yadav for: Robin Uthappa
“And you could see that he was dominating from the word go. And that's what we know Suryakumar Yadav for. That's the SKY we all know and recognize, we want him to play that way. And I feel that's the best way for him to play as well. Go out there, express himself and have fun and dominate the bowling attack. And try to dominate the bowling attack from the word go,” Uthappa added.
Yadav also scored a gritty fifty in the game against Rajasthan Royals and continued his fine form in the game against PBKS. MI won the game by six wickets with seven balls to spare. And apart from Yadav, Ishan Kishan’s 74 off 41 laid the perfect foundation for the visitors to chase the 200-plus target.
