The much-awaited Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir was successfully held on Monday, January 22 as the entire nation is celebrating the homecoming of Ram Lalla (child lord Ram). The Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi also graced the sacred event with his presence as he performed the rituals to consecrate Lord Rama’s idol in their sanctum abode.
The event was attended by numerous eminent personalities of the country who flew into the holy city of Ayodhya to be a part of the momentous occasion. Legendary India cricketer Sachin Tendulkar was also among the several prominent people attending the religious event as he joined in to be a part of the spiritual fervour that has pervaded the entire nation.
At the holy shrine of Ram Janmabhoomi temple, Tendulkar hailed Lord Rama and expressed delight as the dream of billions of people came true.
“Jai Shree Ram it’s a special feeling. Looking forward to it. Indeed, I would say a dream come true for billions and billions of people in our nation and across the globe. The dream has been realized, come and take the blessings, there cannot be anything bigger than that,” Sachin Tendulkar was quoted as saying by Times Now.
Anil Kumble, Venkatesh Prasad and Ravindra Jadeja also attended the event
Meanwhile, apart from Tendulkar, his former India teammates legendary wrist spinner Anil Kumble and fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad also immersed themselves in the grand festivities of Ayodhya. Among the current members of the Indian cricket team, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja attended the ceremony along with his wife Rivaba Jadeja.
Star India batter Virat Kohli was also expected to attend the event as he got a personal invitation to the event along with his Bollywood actor wife Anushka Sharma at his Mumbai residence. However, the Delhi-born cricketer hasn’t been spotted in Ayodhya. Notably, Kohli landed in Hyderabad on Sunday, January 21 to prepare for the five-match Test series against England beginning from January 25.
The latest release by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, however, suggests that the ace batter will miss the first two Tests of the series due to personal reasons. According to the BCCI, certain personal situations have led to demanded undivided attention to Kohli, which has led to the said move.
