Australia picked up a comfortable six-wicket win in the third T20I of the series against Scotland. They have sealed the series 3-0 and have prepared themselves well for the upcoming tour to England. Meanwhile, Scotland coach Doug Watson noted that the players were disappointed after the series defeat but noted that there were plenty of learnings for the players.

He added that the visitors were brilliant with their bowling as Scotland could never manage to create a partnership of more than 40 runs. Scotland also changed their combination to find success and to give opportunities to others but nothing worked for the hosts.

“The 3-0 defeat is frustrating, and the guys will be disappointed because they are proud, but there have been a lot of things we can learn from. We know that playing against world-class opposition, your margins are so small. From a batting perspective, it was about partnerships. In all three games, we didn't get a 40-run partnership; it was something they did well,” Watson was quoted as saying by BBC.

“We chopped and changed quite a bit, which we don't normally do. We gave people different opportunities so they can be exposed to this level,” he added.

McMullen is very calm, and he wants to be brilliant: Watson

Brandon McMullen was the most impressive player for Scotland in the three-match series. He hit two half-centuries against a quality bowling attack of Australia and that impressed coach Watson. He mentioned that the 24-year-old is very calm and has the desire to excel in the game.

“He works hard on his game, he is very reflective, he is very calm, and he wants to be brilliant. He played some outstanding shots, and he showed his class again,” Watson said.
