England women’s Grace Scrivens recently suffered a nasty injury in the ongoing In The Hundred Women 2024 after she was hit in the face with a cricket ball while she was trying to take a catch. The incident occurred during a game between Trent Rocket and London Spirit at the Trent Bridge.
The 20-year-old scored 55 runs to help the Rockets register a win, but was also left with a black eye and a bruise on her cheek as a result of dropping the catch. India women’s Deepti Sharma swept a ball from Kirstie Gordon straight at Scrivens.
However, as the ball fell through her hands onto her face, Scrivens was quickly escorted off the field by the physio. Appearing shocked as she left the field, Scrivens made her return to greet her Rockets teammates after the win with the bruise on her face looking even bigger.
