Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) broke their losing streak of five matches at Chepauk against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 25. SRH beat the Men in Yellow at the MA Chidambaram Stadium by five wickets with brilliant bowling efforts.

The Yellow Brigade has been struggling at their home ground this IPL 2025, except in their first match which resulted in a win against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the opening game of their campaign. In this year, CSK lost their fourth consecutive game at Chepauk leading to one of the worst seasons for them.

Usually, the Men in Yellow dominate the opposition on their spin-friendly tracks and keep the opposite teams under their spell most of the time. But, this year CSK could not jump over the opposition and has lost four matches in the five games they have played so far. The MS Dhoni-led team is at the bottom of the points table with two victories in the nine matches they have played in IPL 2025.

In IPL history, the five-time champions lost four matches consecutively during the 2008 season at home, when they lost the last two matches and in 2010 they lost their opening two games. In this year's IPL, the five-time champions lost at home against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

In the inaugural edition of the IPL, CSK lost four matches in 2008 at their home ground in the seven matches they played in the tournament. After winning the trophy in 2011, CSK lost four matches in 2012 at Chepauk which included the finals played against KKR.

This year, CSK have two more matches to be played at their home ground against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on April 30 and Rajasthan Royals (RR) on May 12. The Super Kings will aim to win both their matches in front of the home crowd to end up this season on a happy note at Chepauk.
