Tilak Varma set to lead India A in ACC T20 Emerging Asia Cup 2024
The tournament format will see eight teams divided into two groups of four teams each.

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) revealed India's A squad for the upcoming Men’s T20 Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Oman. Tilak Varma is poised to lead the 15-member squad in the tournament, which will be held between October 18 and 27. The event is being conducted in the T20 format for the first time and eight teams will vie for glory.
The tournament format will see eight teams divided into two groups of four each. The two teams topping the groups will advance to the semi-final while the final will be played subsequently. The semi-final is slated to take place on October 25 followed by the final on October 27.

Apart from Tilak, the team boasts some budding talents such as Abhishek Sharma, Nehal Wadhera, Ayush Badoni, and Sai Kishore. Abhishek has just finished the T20I series against Bangladesh and the southpaw will be looking to get back to his usual self in the upcoming tournament. Moroever, it is worth noting that Sai Kishore is leading Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy and his availablity will be eagerly awaited.
In the 15-member squad of young cricketers, Tilak has played four ODIs and 16 T20Is for India. Abhishek and Kishore come with experience in eight T20Is and three T20Is respectively. Rahul Chahar, who last played for India in November 2021, will make his comeback. He has played one ODI and six T20Is for India up until now.
