In a pretty one-sided encounter at Chepauk, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) exhibited a near-perfect performance, clinching a resounding 63-run victory over the Gujarat Titans in the seventh game of the IPL 2024 season. The match witnessed stellar performances from CSK's batters and bowlers alike, leaving fans and pundits in awe.
CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, buoyed by the team's performance, described the game as nearly flawless, emphasizing the significance of excelling in all departments against formidable opponents like the Gujarat Titans. Gaikwad highlighted the importance of batting well in Chennai, where the pitch conditions can be unpredictable, underscoring the team's commendable effort in posting a formidable total of 206 for six
"Today's game was near to perfect game, in the sense of batting-bowling-fielding, all three departments. Against a team like Gujarat, we had to produce this kind of performance. (100+ runs in first ten overs) In Chennai when you are not sure how the wicket will be, you must bat well irrespective of when you're batting. Having wickets in the last ten really helps here. Personally, thought Rachin batted and put us against in the game," Ruturaj Gaikwad said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

The batting brilliance of Rachin Ravindra and Shivam Dube played a pivotal role in CSK's commanding total. Ravindra's explosive start, scoring 46 off just 20 balls, set the stage for Dube to unleash his power-packed innings, smashing 51 runs off a mere 23 deliveries, including five towering sixes. Gaikwad lauded both players for their contributions, acknowledging Ravindra's impactful start and Dube's destructive batting display, particularly against spinners.

Reflecting on Dube's outstanding performance, Gaikwad attributed his success to the personalized attention and guidance provided by the team management and former captain MS Dhoni. The skipper expressed satisfaction with the team's overall fielding performance, crediting the inclusion of young talents for the improved dynamism on the field.
"Jinx and Shivam played good roles. Not to forget our youngster Rizvi as well. (Assessment of Dube) Just confidence. When he came here the management worked with him personally, Mahi bhai worked with him personally. He knows what role he is playing and which bowler to take on. A big plus for us. (Fielding today) I think pretty much same, I am impressed as well. Maybe we have got 1-2 extra youngsters in the team. Great effort from Jinx even in the last game and this game," Ruturaj added.
CSK's bowlers complemented the batting prowess with a clinical display, dismantling the Titans' batting lineup. Led by impressive spells from Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur Rahman, Tushar Deshpande, and Matheesha Pathirana, CSK restricted the Titans to a modest total of 143/8, sealing a comprehensive victory.
