Travis Head is one of the most prolific batters and the southpaw is known for striking at the highest rate when he gets going. But the Australia opener surprised everyone with his bowling in the fifth ODI against England in Bristol. The fiery batter turned spinner and bowled 6.2 overs, claiming four wickets and conceding just 28 runs.

Following his impressive comings, Australia managed to keep the hosts in check and cliched the series by 3-2. Head was handed the ball several times and plucked six wickets in four games at an economy rate of just 5.36. Australia captain, Mitchell Marsh noted that the 30-year-old is highly underrated as a bowler and quipped that the latter is a great bowling option.

“I think he’s a very underrated bowler and every time he bowls he seems to change the game in a way. He’s a great character, we always love his celebrations, so like I said earlier, it’s great to have as many options as you can, and the conditions change, it started spinning a bit later on in their innings, so to have options like him, we are lucky," Marsh said after the final game.

Australian spinners were dominant in the overs- share in the final ODI. They bowled a combined 32.2 overs of spin and Head was the standout bowler. England were cruising toward the projected score of 350 as Head pocketed Ben Duckett who had completed his century. He took no time to bundle up the lower order as England wrapped their innings on 309. Eventually, in a rain-marred game, the visitors emerged victorious by 49 runs, via the DLS method.
