Travis Head was phenomenal with the bat in the first innings against India in Adelaide. The 30-year-old was given the freedom to express himself and the Australia international took advantage of that and hit the leather all across the park. He smashed 17 boundaries and four sixes, scoring 140 runs off 141 deliveries as Australia posted 337 runs in the first innings. Indian bowlers struggled to hit the line against Head and that put the visitors in trouble.

In the 82nd over, pacer Mohammed Siraj finally clinched the wicket of Head after bowling an impeccable yorker. However, after the dismissal, Head and Siraj got involved in a heated argument and that was one of the biggest highlights of Day 2. The Indian international was seen giving Head a heated sent-off and after which, Head was seen replying to him with abusive words.

However, the Adelaide-born later claimed that he said ‘well bowled’ to Siraj and even after that, the cricketer attacked him verbally. Head however later acknowledged that he was abused after Siraj’s gesture and also added that he was slightly disappointed with how it transpired in the middle.

“I said 'well bowled' but he thought otherwise. When he pointed me to the shed, he got a little bite back from me. Slightly disappointed with how it transpired. It is what it is. If they want to act like that and that's how they're going to represent themselves, then so be it,” said Head in the press conference.

Interestingly, Siraj rubbished Head’s claim on Sunday morning. Speaking to Harbhajan Singh, the Hyderabad-born mentioned that Head completely lied in the press conference and that he said ‘well bowled’. The 30-year-old talked about the importance of respect and added that he was celebrating before Head started abusing him in the middle.

"I was enjoying bowling to him. It was a good battle because he was batting really well. When batter hits you for a six on a good ball, it feels bad. That gave me an energy. After bowling him out, I celebrated. Then he abused me. You can see on TV as well. In the start, it was my celebration, I didn't say anything to him. In the press conference, he said wrong thing. He lied. No way he said well-bowled. We respect everyone. I always respect everyone because cricket is a gentleman's game. Travis Head's actions were wrong. I did not feel good," Siraj told Star Sports.
