Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) missed out on one of the best players, Sunil Narine, as he wasn't physically fit to play the game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2025. So, Moeen Ali filled in for him. The 37-year-old player wasn't much handy with the bat but claimed two wickets with the ball. After this performance, KKR will have an issue choosing the team for the next game.

During the post-match presentation, Moeen Ali spoke about his experience with the team. This is the first time he has been playing with KKR. The all-rounder mentioned that he was informed about his inclusion in the team in the morning. KKR now look like a balanced side with some quality players in the team.

"It was nice. I have been practising well. I was told this morning that Sunil was not well. It was hard to replace Sunil but I did a fair job. Those are the wickets you enjoy the most, try and open the batters up, spin the ball as much as you can. Really good, really good bunch of guys, it's been amazing so far. Trying to get better at 37-years-old," said Moeen Ali at the post-match presentation.

I was the unlucky one facing him: Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali had to face Jofra Archer in the second innings because he was opening for KKR alongside Quinton de Kock. He mentioned during the presentation that Archer was 'too quick' for him and he hasn't faced him since the Ashes. Ali tried to defend the player, but was looked like he was struggling against him the entire time.

"I have not faced that sort of fast bowling probably since the Ashes. I was the unlucky one facing him, he was too quick for me. Just to stay on top of your game and still try to improve and develop. Use my experience and keep the stumps in play and to the left-handers in particular bowl it tight," added Ali.
