England pacer Tymal Mills revealed a rather unfortunate news of his two-year-old daughter suffering from a stroke shortly before boarding a flight in the Big Bash League (BBL). It is now confirmed that the Englishman has pulled out of the top-tier league for this season due to the emergency.

The 30-year-old was to feature for the defending champions- Perth Scorchers in the new season but has pulled out of the stint. Mills took to social media to share the unfortunate news of his daughter and stated that the two-year-old ‘lost complete use of the left side of her body’.

“Home for Christmas after the most horrible 11 days. As we were at the airport about to leave for Australia our daughter suffered what ended up being a stroke. She lost complete use of the left side of her body and we were told they couldn’t predict how much she would regain,” he shared on his IG.

“Despite all of the challenges she faced our little girl has amazed everyone with her recovery to point where we were discharged with her hopping and skipping out of the hospital. She has lots of rehab, medication, and scans ahead but we are so grateful to be where we are right now. Thank you to everyone that’s reached out to us. Keep your loved ones close,” added the southpaw.

David Payne announced as replacement

The four-time BBL winners announced a fellow-left arm quick in David Payne as the replacement for Mills. The pacer has played 126 matches of which he has racked up 155 wickets with his best bowling figures being 5/24 in his T20 outings.

Alongside Mills, Phil Salt and Laurie Evans are not part of the squad this season as the former picked up an injury while the latter’s contract was terminated after failing a dope test. The Ashton Turner-led side have played two matches thus far in the season and have won one and lost one and will play Melbourne Stars in their forthcoming contest.
