In the ongoing match five (Group B) of the Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup 2023, Pakistan have managed to restrict Rwanda to just 106/8 while bowling first at the Senwes Park on Sunday (January 15). An intriguing incident took place during Rawanda's batting after they won the toss and chose to set a target on the board.

Pakistan right-arm pacer Zaib-un-Nisa became the centre of all the talk as she ran Rwanda's Sharila Niyomuhoza out at the non-striker's end.

The 17-year-old pacer, bowling the 20th over, spotted Sharila leaving the crease way too early and hence took the bails off in her follow through to give Pakistan their eighth wicket. The on-field umpire was quick to raise his finger as the batter was forced to walk off the pitch. Zaib-un-Nisa conceded only 14 runs in her four-over spell and and also grabbed a wicket.

Playing in the first Group B match, Rwanda started well despite losing opener Merveille Uwase for a duck. Captain Gisele Ishimwe smashed the highest 40 off 35 while Cynthia Tuyizere scored 21 but Pakistan bowlers made a great comeback and restricted Rwanda to 106 runs in the allotted quota of 20 overs.

Another run out at the non-striker's end:

Run outs at the non-striker end and the discussion involving the same has gained momentum since England's Charlie Dean was run out by India's Deepti Sharma during India's tour to England after the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

The incident made a lot of headlines and the whole cricketing community got divided into two halves. There were numerous former players as well as current lot of players who held Deepti's action well within the laws of the game and it featured names like Ravichandran Ashwin, Alex Hales among others.

On the other hand, players like Sam Billings, James Anderson and others were not pleased at all with Deepti and crticised her on social media. Journalist Piers Morgan had also criticised and lambasted Deepti.
