India Under-19 batter Sachin Dhas showcased his batting prowess with a match-winning century against Nepal in the ongoing ICC U-19 World Cup at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on Friday, February 2. Notably, India, led by Uday Saharan registered a convincing 132-run win against Nepal.

Dhas struck a ton and went on to win the Player of the Match award. Dhas was happy with his performance and stated it was a birthday gift for his father.

“I feel very good. Yesterday, Sir told me that you would get a chance up front and I grabbed the chance. The need was there for the team, and I was talking with Uday to take it deep and get a big score. I was telling my dad that this innings is your birthday gift,” Dhas said in the post-match presentation ceremony.

He went on to say that legendary India batter Sachin Tendulkar is his role model and that is one of the reasons why he wears jersey No.10. “My role model is Sachin Tendulkar and that's why I wear 10,” he added.
