Star India batter Virat Kohli is going through another rough phase in his career. The veteran has scored just 190 runs during the Boroder-Gavaskar Trophy, with a solitary ton against Australia in Perth. His ability to convert good starts into big innings, which is what he was known for, is missing of late. But the fans and several cricket pundits have backed the veteran to come good in the upcoming cricket season.

One such well-wishers is none other than his former teammate, Suresh Raina. Kohli and Raina have played a lot of cricket together. Having observed the flamboyant cricketer closely, Raina provided an insight into the mentality of the cricketer. While backing Kohli to get back to form, the former southpaw revealed that Kohli deals with immense passion on the field and is a good teammate to have around.

“His mindset is very different. He is, as I said, I think a good team mate to have in a dressing room but he is always on the switch. When he practices, he has a different preparation, when he does fielding, whenever the chips are down, he will be the first person to come and say, let's fight, let's do fielding,” said Raina speaking to Star Sports.

“I really enjoyed fielding with him because his passion is different because when he is in the mood for fielding and diving, everyone’s attitude changes. Virat, he has the talent and he is a little different in North India. When we come from there, we can't bear to lose. We don't know how to lose. We won't leave till we die. That's the kind of attitude he has,” he added.

Kohli turns to domestic cricket to find his batting mojo

Currently, in pursuit of regaining the lost batting form, Virat Kohli has joined his domestic team Delhi for their last Ranji Trophy 2024-25 league game against Railways commencing on January 30. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) has arranged an extra 10,000 seats for the fans to come and witness the legendary batter in action.
