Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma expecting their second child, confirms AB de Villiers

Legendary South Africa batter AB de Villiers has finally spilled the beans on Virat Kohli’s absence from the first two Tests against England. The 39-year-old revealed that the star cricketer is expecting his second child with Bollywood actor wife Anushka Sharma putting an end to all the rumours circulating about Kohli’s personal life.

Notably, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) informed that the former India captain has withdrawn from the first two Tests against England on January 22 due to personal reasons. Since then, there were widespread rumours circulating on the internet regarding the ill health of his mother. However, they were put to rest by his brother Vikas Kohli who confirmed that their mother was fine.

Finally, AB de Villiers has revealed the real reason behind Kohli's absence and stated that the India cricketer is expecting his second child in a live session on his YouTube channel AB de Villiers 360. During the session, a fan had asked De Villiers if he had a chat with Kohli in recent times and asked for his well-being. 

“I did text him, I did hear from him, I cannot give you too much information. All I know is that he’s fine and spending a bit of time with his family that’s the reason for missing the first few Test matches. I’m not gonna confirm anything else, unfortunately. But I would love to see him back, I cannot wait to see him back whichever form or way. But he’s fine, he’s happy” said De Villiers on his YouTube channel.

All the Best to Virat and Anushka: AB de Villiers

Further speaking ahead, De Villiers shared the much-awaited news of Anushka Sharma's pregnancy and wished the couple All the Best.

“Let me just see what he said, bear with me people. I wrote to him, ‘I’ve been wanting to check with you one thing for a while now biscuit, how are you doing?’ He said, ‘How are you, Just need to be with my family right now.’ So, yes his second child is on the way, it’s family time. You cannot judge Virat for that, and yes we miss him but he’s made the right decision. We wish him all the very best for the great blessing of being able to become a father for the second time and All the Best to Anushka as well,” De Villiers further said in the video.

Notably, a video during the ODI World Cup 2023 went viral where Anushka was seen with a baby bump and all the rumours of pregnancy have now come to rest after De Villiers' confirmation.
