Abhimanyu Easwaran has opened up about his promising cricket career. The Bengal captain, who is well-known for his commitment to fitness, reckoned that ace India batter Virat Kohli is his inspiration.
The 27-year-old was full of praise for Kohli for being the biggest fitness icon, citing his remarkable journey with team India and the tremendous transformation in his fitness. The prolific opening batter added that the former India skipper has grown into the world's best batter with his fitness.
"He (Virat Kohli) is the biggest example because we've seen his journey when he came to the Indian team. And the change he's brought to his fitness. And how he's improved his game. I think he was a really good batter when he came into the Indian side. But over the years, with his fitness, he's grown into the world's best batter," Easwaran said during an exclusive interview with OneCricket.
With the number of games we play, it is really important to stay fit: Easwaran
Abhimanyu Easwaran went on to say that if Virat Kohli's fitness has made a significant impact in his game, it would undoubtedly make a significant difference in any cricketer's game, adding that fitness is a big part of the game. He also mentioned the necessity of staying fit, regardless of how many games one plays.
"So I think that is something very inspiring. And I've seen him work hard in JN World. Do a running session on the ground. And that really inspired me. Because if that has made a big difference in his game, that would surely make a big difference in every cricketer's game. Because fitness is obviously a big part of the sport. And now, with the number of games we play, it is really important to stay fit. So I think, yeah. I think he's been my inspiration with fitness," he added.
