Virat Kohli is the highest tax-paying cricketer in India by a distance in the financial year 2024. However, surprisingly, the ODI and Test captain Rohit Sharma is not in the top 20 in India, as per Fortune India.

Kohli has paid a whopping INR 66 crore in taxes, making him the fifth-highest contributor among Indian celebrities. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni, who retired from international cricket in August 2020 but continues to play for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) stood second on the list, paying INR 38 crore in income tax. He is sixth on the list of contributors among Indian celebrities.

When is Indian team returning to action?

It has been a while since the Indian team stepped onto the cricket field. However, the wait is about to end as they are set to host Bangladesh for a two-match Test series, starting September 19 in Chennai. The two teams will also compete in a three-match T20I series in October.

Rohit and Co. suffered a 0-2 loss in an ODI series in Sri Lanka last month and will look to bounce back strongly against a confident Bangladesh side coming off a historic 2-0 Test series win in Pakistan.
