A total of eight matches of the T20 Vitality Blast 2024 were played on July 19. Four games from the North Group and four matches from the South Group were featured on the day. Derbyshire and Durham faced off while Nottinghamshire and Yorkshire locked horns as well.
The day began with Derbyshire and Durham facing off in the North Group. The clash began with Derbyshire batting first. The team put forth a subpar display with the bat; Wayne Madsen and Alex Thomson were the highest run-getters, with 22 runs each to their names. Derbyshire posted a total of 155 runs in the first innings. Aiming to chase it down, Durham did so with ease, scoring 159 runs in 18.5 overs, winning the game by eight wickets.
From the South Group, one of the games featured a clash between Sussex and Middlesex. The clash saw Middlesex come in to bat first. After the top order’s failure to go big, Jack Davies scored 52 runs to help his side post a total of 159 runs in the first innings. However, during the second innings, Sussex looked exceptional, scoring 161 runs in just 16.2 overs and winning the game by nine wickets.
