The Indian team has been in excellent form at the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Having played eight games in the tournament so far, the Men in Blue are unbeaten in the prestigious tournament and have registered brilliant wins in each of their eight games so far.
Led by Rohit Sharma, the side was the first team to qualify for the knockout stages of the tournament, and seeing their form, many have come forward to brand the hosts as the heavy favourites to go all the way in the tournament.
Talking of the same form, legendary former West Indies cricketer Sir Vivian Richards heaped massive praises on team India. He also talked of the mindset that India has maintained in the tournament and opined that a change in mindset could cause problems for the side going forward.
"In terms of this year’s competition, India has a mindset that they can go all the way playing like this. That absolutely should be their mindset and would be mine if I were in that dressing room—let's go out with all guns blazing. That approach has worked so far, and if that changes, things may go astray," Vivian Richards told the ICC.
“I believe they can go all the way unbeaten, which is really something to strive for. There may be some fear that ‘we have played so well so far, there may be a bad game around the corner in the semi-final’. They have to try and nullify those and banish any negative thoughts,” he added.
Speaking of the side’s upcoming assignments, the Indian team will be gearing up for their final group stage game before they progress through to the knockout stages of the World Cup. Team India will be going up against the Netherlands for their final game, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Sunday, November 12.
