Sachin Tendulkar arrival will give credibility to National Cricket League: Wasim Akram
"Sachin has been the greatest player in world cricket," said Akram.
A big boost to the cricketing prospects of the United States of America was seen as the country co-hosted the T20 World Cup 2024. The world took notice of the USA team as they managed to beat Pakistan in the tournament and gave tough competition to other teams as well. National Cricket League, an American ownership group, has started a novice T10 league, and the latest entrant to the fray is legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
The likes of Suresh Raina, Shahid Afridi, Dinesh Karthik, Shakib Al Hasan, Robin Uthappa, and more have enrolled to play in the league. The inclusion of these former players does add star attraction, but former Pakistan pacer, Wasim Akram opined that roping in Tendulkar will give credibility to the league and also mentioned how Arun Agarwal, organiser of Sixty Strikers League by NCL, pitched in the idea.

“This is amazing. When Arun Agarwal met me during the T20 World Cup, he asked me to join this tournament. When he told me this, I was not sure that such a league could be organized in such a short time, but I would like to say that he has organized the league very well,” said Akram as quoted by NDTV Sports.
“There will be a lot of benefits from Tendulkar joining the league. Sachin has been the greatest player in world cricket. Him joining this league will give recognition to such a tournament. Sachin's arrival will give credibility to this league. I am friends with Sachin, I am also very excited to meet him. We have had a lot of competition on the field which the fans have liked a lot,” he added.
