Daryl Mitchell remarkably avoided the fence at long off and came back inside the boundary to complete a sensational catch.
New Zealand and South Africa are locking horns in Match 32 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on Wednesday, November 01 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. After being put in to bat first, South Africa once again unleashed their wrath on New Zealand as they posted another massive score of 357/4 in their allotted 50 overs.
While the entire first innings was filled with remarkable strokeplay of the Proteas batters, Daryl Mitchell also stole the limelight with his incredible catch on the boundary. On the fifth ball of the 50th over bowled by Jimmy Neesham, David Miller tried to smack him for a maximum over long off. However, he hit the ball straight to Mitchell, who was well aware of the boundary behind him and quickly got rid of the ball before falling over.

He further managed to comfortably grab hold of the ball and complete a sensational catch by coming back into the boundary.

However, Miller had done most of the damage before being dismissed as he scored a quick-fire 53 off 30 balls clobbering two fours and four sixes in his innings. Earlier in the innings, South Africa lost their captain Temba Bavuma (24 off 28) early in the innings who got caught at slip by Daryl Mitchell in the ninth over to leave his side on 38/1.
Quinton de Kock scores fourth hundred of the tournament
Following his dismissal, Rassie van der Dussen (133 off 118) and Quinton de Kock (114 off 116) got involved in a massive 200-run stand for the second wicket off 189 balls to put pressure on the opposition. De Kock registered his fourth hundred of the tournament crossing the 500-run mark in the process.

The southpaw is the leading run-scorer of the tournament so far 545 runs from seven innings at an average of 77.85 and a strike rate of 112.60. At the other end, Van der Dussen also registered his second hundred of the tournament as South Africa posted 357/4 in their allotted 50 overs.
