Konark Suryas managed to reach the summit clash of the ongoing Legends League Cricket 2024. The side took on Toyam Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 of the tournament at the Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar on Monday, October 14. The clash began with Suryas batting first, and the side got off to a subpar start.
Openers R Levi and Munaweera departed for 6 and 18 runs, respectively. Kevin O'Brien stabilised the innings with a knock of 50 runs, but Navin Stewart and Yusuf Pathan failed to follow his knock up with good performances.
However, it was former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan who stole the show in Qualifier 2. Coming out to bat in the middle order, Pathan went unbeaten on a score of 49 runs in 35 deliveries to help his side post a total of 156 runs in the first innings of the game.

Suryas to cross swords with Southern Super Stars in finale
Furthermore, as Hyderabad came out to chase down the target, the side opened their innings with Chadwick Walton and George Worker scoring 10 and 8, respectively. Peter Trego added 15 runs, with Rikki Clarke scoring 67 runs to help his side reach closer to the target.
However, as Hyderabad seemed to be reaching closer to the target, it was once again the heroics of Irfan Pathan that helped his side defend the total. Coming out to bowl the final over of the game, Suryas had to defend 12 runs off the last six deliveries, and channelling his former self, Irfan Pathan, performed exceptionally well.
Pathan managed to defend 12 runs off the final over, helping Konark Suryas win the game by one run and reaching the summit clash of the tournament. For the final of the competition, Konark Suryas will be taking on Southern Super Stars for a shot at the title. Both sides will lock horns at the Bakshi Stadium, Srinagar on Wednesday, October 16.
