New Zealand put in an excellent performance against India in the first innings of the first Test. Both sides kicked off the first Test on day 2 in Bangalore after the first day was washed out. The game began with India coming into bat first and the overcast conditions combined with New Zealand’s bowling attack proved to be too much to handle for the hosts.
India were bundled out for just 46 runs in the first innings and New Zealand came out to bat in the first innings, The side had performed well to avoid a situation similar to that of India. However, a moment from New Zealand’s first innings went viral due to KL Rahul’s brain fade moment in the slips.
As Mohammed Siraj came out to bowl the 13th over of the first innings, Tom Latham, who was looking increasingly dangerous on the pitch, survived a close call. On the second ball of the over, Latham edged the ball, and as it went straight towards KL Rahul in the slips, it flew right between Rahul and Kohli.
Expecting Rahul to go for the catch at third slip, the star batter was unable to even get his hand on the ball. The clip of the moment has been going viral all over social media.
