Watch: Left-handed Jos Buttler creams backfoot drive during nets; netizens laud 360-degree batter for versatility

The England T20I skipper Jos Buttler is certainly making his opponents feel the heat already as he gears up for the T20 World Cup 2022. Regarded as one of the best T20 players in the world, Buttler is currently leading his side in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Australia as a preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup.  

The 32-year-old was rested for the T20Is in Pakistan, and he returned with a bang straightaway by scoring a fluent 32-ball 68 which comprised eight fours and four sixes in the first T20I against Australia. His fireworks at the top alongside Alex Hales’ 84 run-knock helped England post a huge total on board and ended up winning the game by eight runs at the end.

The preparations for the T20 World Cup 2022 have got intense. Buttler has always been fond of playing the 360-degree shots. He took it to the next level as he turned into a left-handed batter against the bowling of Ben Stokes and played an eye-catching back foot cover drive with ease. The video of Buttler turning into a left-hander has gone viral on social media.

Meanwhile, Buttler has been facing a lot of mixed reactions around the world for not appealing against Matthew Wade during the first T20I against Australia. Wade could have been dismissed for obstructing the field, however, Buttler denied appealing and it left many of the experts astonished. In the post-match conference, Buttler’s revealed the reason behind not appealing and it did not amuse a lot of former experts who expressed their dissent.  

“I wasn’t sure what happened. They asked if I wanted to appeal, and I thought, ‘we’re here for a long time in Australia. It would be a risky one to go for so early in the trip,” Buttler told after the match.
