I was tongue-tied: Ravi Shastri
It is worth noting that the moment Nitish Kumar Reddy completed his century, former India cricketer Ravi Shastri was in the commentary box. Seeing the visuals of Reddy’s emotional father, Shastri too got emotional and shed a tear as Reddy scripted history.
Talking about the moment, Shastri revealed how he got emotional and admitted that he could not speak after seeing his father. “I was emotional because broadcasters were showing his (father’s) photos. The sacrifice he has made to let Nitish play cricket and most importantly the character, the discipline and the application he has shown,” Shastri was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
“That’s why only you (Jatin Sapru) and Irfan (Pathan) were talking. I was tongue-tied,” he added.
Reddy’s ton seems to have helped the Indian team a lot, the visitors have been exceptional with the ball in the second innings, and are looking to limit the Aussies to the lowest possible score and chase down the total.
